About UPPSC PCS Exam
Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) conducts UPPSC PCS exam every year to select candidates for State Civil Services and Provincial Police Services (PPS). Through which candidates are selected for Group B services. The UPPCS exam is used to recruit employees for provincial civil services and other state jobs in Uttar Pradesh. These employees are appointed every year after training to work in many important departments including general administration, land records, land income etc.
UP PCS exam is conducted in 3 stages-
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type & Multiple Choice)
- Main Examination (Conventional Type, i.e. Written examination)
- Interview (Personality Test)
This year, the optional subject has been removed from the mains exam of UPPCS and two papers of GS have been added in its place.
UPPSC Exam Pattern of PCS 2023
The exam pattern for Provincial Civil Services (PCS) written exam is as follows:
Pre Exam Pattern:
The prelims written test will be multiple choice objective type consisting of two compulsory papers.
Each paper will be of 200 marks and two hours duration.
Both the papers will be objective type and multiple choice containing 150-100 questions respectively.
Paper-II of the Preliminary Examination will be the qualifying paper in which the minimum qualifying marks for the students have been fixed at 33%. If you score less than this, you do not pass in the prelims exam.
Main Exam Pattern:
The mains written exam will be of subjective (conventional) as well as objective type.
